Hamas warns of “malicious” scheme to hit Palestinian national unity

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas Movement has warned on Wednesday that “enemies” of the Palestinian people are working to spoil Palestinian national harmony and unity purposely to push the Palestinian people back to the marsh of infighting.

The Movement’s alarm came in a statement it issued Wednesday and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC in which it vehemently denied involvement in the killing of an officer in the PA preventive security apparatus in Khan Younis.

“Vicious and criminal gangs are still targeting Palestinian unity day and night with the aim to spread chaos in the Palestinian street to hide the true masterminds behind the mess and disorder in the Palestinian arena”, the statement affirmed.

On Tuesday, unknown armed men gunned down PA preventive security officer Tahseen Al-Ghalban beside his house in Khan Younis city.

The Movement also confirmed that it maintained good rapport with the family of the murdered officer, and that none of its cadres had a grudge against him.

“Hamas and the family of Galban have jointly paid the price of connivances and conspiracies against them as both lost best of their cadres and family members”, the statement further pointed out.

Hamas deprecated attempts on the part of the true killers of Galban to twist facts and to throw the blame on the Movement for the murder of the officer.

It affirmed that the murderers of Galban are attempting to mix up cards by murdering cadres of Hamas and cadres from Fatah from the same family.

A couple of months ago, Hamas field commander Yasser Al-Galban, who is a close relative of the killed officer, was assassinated at the hands of unknown elements believed to be from the same mischievous group.

In conclusion, Hamas called on the Palestinian people to consolidate ranks and to cut the road before hooligans working for Israel’s interests and attempting to spread mischief in the Palestinian community.
